The Foundation That Convinced Me To Switch To Lighter Coverage
Switching foundations is like switching banks. Sometimes it’s totally necessary. But then there’s the CBF factor… opening the new accounts, setting up new direct debits and don’t even get me started on the long phone wait with the bank to close your accounts.
After reading The Barefoot Investor a few months ago, I decided it was time to make a few changes in my life. As I took myself out for my first Barefoot Date Night (joking, I’m single… I opened my new bank account from the couch), I also took a good, hard look at my makeup drawer and decided it was time to reevaluate my holy grail foundation.
Why It Was Time To Switch:
As soon as I started working at Adore, our Beauty Editor got me onto a hardcore skincare routine. I now use every active ingredient under the sun *insert warning about SPF*, and as a result, I’ve said goodbye to shitty skin - ie. breakouts, dullness and uneven texture.
My holy grail foundation until this point was MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - a long-wearing medium-to-full buildable coverage that controls oil production - which was perfect for my pimple-prone, oil-slick-by-3pm skin.
At some point, I stopped wearing foundation to work. My skin was looking better than it did at 25, and I didn’t want to hide it underneath a thick layer of foundation. And so, I started my search for the ultimate light coverage foundation…
